PRESS RELEASE: New SCL President Bob Armstrong

New President to Steer SCL into Future of Supply Chain

TORONTO, ON – November 5, 2007 Supply Chain & Logistics Association Canada is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Armstrong to the position of President, effective immediately.  After David Long’s departure in May of 2007, SCL worked with the Trans-Logic Executive Search Group to find a suitable candidate to fill the post. Mr. Armstrong quickly proved to be the most qualified and enthusiastic of the applicants, bringing over 35 years of experience in the fields of international trade, cross border logistics and customs regulations and procedures.

Bob has been a longtime supporter of SCL, and has served on the Board of Directors. In addition, with over 10 years of experience as an association President, including nine year tenures at both the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters Inc. and the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers of Canada (AIAMC), Bob holds a firm grasp on the necessary foundations of a strong Association that will be relevant and valuable to its’ membership. SCL Board of Directors Chairman Mike Mroczkowski is confident in the choice: “We could not have asked for a better fit. Bob has the background and vision to thrust SCL into a new chapter of growth, innovation, and significance. I genuinely believe that we are opening the door to a new and exciting future for the association and its members.”

Bob is a well known national and international speaker, author and expert on several issues that are of significant interest to the supply chain community, making him a natural fit with the Association and its goal to continue the move towards a forefront position in the industry.
